Home sweet home

We had quite a day yesterday! We started looking for a new house about a year and a half ago and after lots of searching, we finally found the perfect place. I'll post better pictures once I have them. It's a pretty great story. We went out yesterday ("we" being Chris, Meredith, my dad, our very patient real estate agent, and me) to look at three houses. When we were looking at the last one, we saw this house across the street. The agent called and said we could go over and look at it. As soon as we got inside, we knew this was the perfect one (perfect kitchen, Chris' dream garage, great yard for the dogs, enough bedrooms for more kids, the exact neighborhood we've been dying to live in--perfect!). It turns out that the house had just been listed the day before and we knew we had to make an offer right then and there. As we were working on the offer, the owner came to the house to pick up some things, so we got to meet him too. What a wonderful man! We're hoping to close mid-April and then start moving in to our dream home. To say we're excited is the understatement of the century!

Orange you glad I didn't say "banana"?

Here are some pictures and video from the last two weeks. Meredith is doing great with solids. This picture is from her first adventure with sweet potatoes. As you can see, she was a big fan. In addition to rice cereal, bananas and sweet potatoes, she's also had squash, green beans and pears. So far, so good! She keeps adding new noises to her vocabulary. These "screams" are the latest and she saves them for times when she's really happy. Meredith is usually happy, so we hear this a lot! Her favorite is to grab onto your face or hair and let out a scream. Feel free to come to our house for a demonstration. Just make sure to leave your dangly earrings at home!

Meredith is also now rolling everywhere and even manages to get her knees under her when she flips onto her belly. Mimi came over today to visit and Mer rolled herself to her belly and tried to scoot towards the door as soon as she heard her voice. We also went shopping and to lunch today and found Meredith's first Easter dress. It's really precious!

Watching TV with Mia and Philly--everyone likes Sesame Street at our house these days (oh, Aunt Vero, just you wait!)
